Democracy through Drama Summer School 2019

Come and explore how drama can be used in teachinghumanities subjects to enhance democratic classrooms!
Drama in Education and Mimesis in Education approaches can offer the chance to examine democracy and offer teachers of Languages and Humanities models of enhancing students’ active exploration, reflection and citizenship skills within curriculum subject lessons.
Experts have created implementable materials for teachers that will be shared together with the thinking behind them, so teachers can adapt or create new teaching materials for their own specific group and curriculum.
Democracy through Drama is an Erasmus+ project led by Birmingham City University. The Summer School presents the materials created for teachers of Languages and Humanities working with 11-15 year old young people to enhance creating democratic classroom with the use of Drama in Education and Mimesis in Education approaches to teaching.
Teacher from all over Europe taking part in the Summer School will participate in workshops designed especially for the project to experience and learn the methodology used in the workshops.
