Education through Science Conference 2017: Introducing the VISTE Approach at Casa Corpului Didactic Cluj

The event was organized by Casa Corpului Didactic Cluj on the 30th October 2017.

The objectives of the activity were: to attract as many teachers of mainstream schools as possible so the inclusive educational framework proposed by VISTE is adequately communicated; to present the VISTE inclusive educational framework for spatial thinking of students with VI; to present the VISTE Spatial Thinking Educational Components; to present the VISTE Innovative ICT Toolkit (design, implementation and validation). There were 55 participants-25 teachers from 5 mainstream schools; 10 VI persons-teachers and members of the associations; 1 accompanying person of VI; 10 training teachers from CCD Cluj, 2 persons- public authorities, 7 Teachers from LSDV- 6 speakers at the panel discussions and one head teacher.

The event had two distinct parts: In the first part, the participants were familiarized with the VISTE project, with the VISTE inclusive educational framework for spatial thinking of students with VI, with the VISTE Spatial Thinking Educational Components, with the VISTE Innovative ICT Toolkit (design, implementation and validation). In the second part, the participants were invited to a Panel Discussion about the specific problems for creating the effective learning environment for VI students as the teachers started to implement the VISTE scenarios. There were 6 speakers- teachers from the Special School for Visual Impaired(LSDV) who developed and implemented VISTE scenarios.
