Funding for my School

Do you have a vision of your school as a modern institution that makes use of all the latest developments in pedagogy and  educational technology?  Are you willing to go the extra mile to build a learning environment that goes beyond national curricula and directives?

Realizing such a vision, requires the ability to attract funding from various sources, according to the needs of your school.

This course introduces the fundamentals of funding for your school in the EU context. Emphasis will be given to the new Erasmus+ framework, including the European School Development Plan, and the field of Crowdfunding.

This course would be ideal for school principals, governors, headmasters, members of parents’ groups and associations, as well as  teachers-as-change-agents, who have assumed the role of introducing their school to innovation.
All the aforementioned have to be staff members or parents of pupils studying at ODS pilot schools. Good knowledge of English and Web 2.0 tools is essential for following this course.
There will be an examination element (assignments) and a Certificate award. Participants will have the option of opting out

Crowdfunding for Schools (the funding of a project by a large number of supporters who each contribute a small amount): How to use online tools to generate funds for everything you need – including school supplies, events, special projects and more.

Crowdfunding is a type of crowdsourcing in which projects are funded by collecting often small amounts of money
from a large number of people, usually via a website that facilitates the process. Community leaders, PTAs, teachers, principals, parents, and students
of all ages are using the crowdfunding model of Internet fund-raising for their schools.

With a warm “thank you” to the Edutopia Foundation who originally created the material and generously allowed it to feature in the Open Discovery Space Academy!
