This paper from the Cabinet Office Strategy Unit with input from Defra,
draws together evidence about long-term trends in food production and consumption, and proposed new objectives for future food policy. It examines the changing attitudes to food consumption and the relationship with food safety, nutrition and national food production capacity. The 144-page document concludes with a list of actions including the establishment of a Food Strategy Task Force to coordinate food policy issues across government, and a joint research strategy on safe low-impact food and healthier diets.
