iMuSciCA Summer School 2018
Welcome to the iMuSciCA 2018 Summer School.
The summer school will be held in Golden-Coast seaside hotel, Marathonas, Greece from 1-6 July 2018.
Introducing the Summer School:
MuSciCA Summer School 2018 is offering an interdisciplinary experience that encourages STEAM pedagogy through ICT. It offers a solution based on an innovative educational approach that addresses secondary school students. The purpose of iMuSciCA is to design and implement a suite of software tools and services on top of embedded on a workbench that will deliver interactive music activities. The solution intends to support mastery of core academic content on STEM subjects (Physics, Geometry, Mathematics, and Technology/Engineering), and to develop students’ creativity and deeper learning skills through their engagement in music activities. Your Mission:
Your mission in the iMuSciCA 2018 summerschool is to create innovative educational scenarios, following the inquiry based STEAM pedagogical framework of iMuSciCA, utilizing the iMuSciCA workbench providing a variety of cutting edge software tools, which you will implement in your classroom.
Location:
The iMuscica Summer School 2018 will be held at Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows, an A-class/ 4-star sea-side hotel which stretches on the golden, sandy beach of the Marathon Bay, near the historic location of Marathon, at the outskirts of Athens.
It is the area of Marathon, that has hosted since the times of myths when Theseus killed the terrible bull of Marathon, to the times of the Persian wars and the Battle of Marathon, further on to our days and the marathon race and Marathon Run, the emblematic symbol of man's quest for freedom and the will to defend his most noble deeds which constitute the foundations of the Human civilization. The plethora of natural, historical sites and museums of the area reveal in all details this unique historical voyage.
Arrival and registration:
Participants are expected to arrive through the Athens International Airport, approximately 25 km (15,53 miles) distance from the hotel. The registration will take place on Sunday 01/07 and will be open from 14.00 (Athens Time) and on.
