On Saturday the 28th of April 2018 the final round of the Debate Competition for primary school students took place at the premises of Ellinogermaniki Agogi. The “Debate Competition” (one of OSOS first accelerators) was organized under the aegis of the Greek Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Greek Institute of Educational Policy, the School Regional Administration Office, the School Advisor of East Attica and the University of Athens.
More than 550 primary school students from 10 schools in Attica participated in this first pilot phase of the project and debated on scientific issues that influence the quality of our life. Over the past months and throughout the activity students were involved in scientific research, were familiarized with scientific issues, cooperated with their classmates, shared information and ideas, took up distinct roles and position on scientific matters not to mention becoming familiar with presenting themselves in front of a live audience.
On Saturday, 18 student groups consisting of more than 70 primary school students participated in the final round of the Debate Competition.
According to the grading of the assessment committee:
- Ellinogermaniki Agogi Primary School debate team consisting of Arkadianou Mirto, Zervoudaki Oresti, Manolopoulou Eleni and Spatharaki Katerina achieved the first place.
- 1st Primary School of Artemida debate team consisting of Valsamidi Anastasio, Mirtai Marina, Papageorgiou Agapi, Lazareskou Andrea, Feraroli Chrisoula, and Roundai Fationa achieved the second place.
- 6th Primary School of Artemida debate team consisting of Kazira Konstantina, Toli Ioanni, Gigourtsi Andrea and Zimvragoudaki Aggelo achieved the third place.
